do lawyers let you shadow them

Details: Depending on where you go to school, law offices will advertise for internships or jobs for undergrads and taking one of those would be good for you to learn about law. If you're just starting college, it's a bad idea to try to shadow a lawyer now. Better to wait at least a year, maybe two. You can be a lawyer with any major.

Working as a lawyer part-time

Details: Large firms do part time on a case by case basis (usually for those who have already proven themselves as full time associates), but "part time" means about 40 hours a week, and tends to kill upward mobility. Your chances of getting such a job from that school are exceedingly slim. Top. PRgradBYU. Posts: 1417.

Santa Clara vs Southwestern vs McGeorge

Details: Re: Santa Clara vs Southwestern vs McGeorge. Post. by bk1 » Tue Jun 14, 2011 6:36 pm. SCU is an atrocious idea considering it only places about 1/4 of its grads into full time lawyer jobs. For McGeorge it is about 1/2. Rankings don't really mean anything after the top 20 or so schools so you really should ignore it.
